About Me

Me in a suit
This was taken on one of the rare days I wasn't covered in chalk, blood, or existential dread.

My name is Nathan Audiss. I'm a Catholic by conviction, not convenience. I grew up in San Diego, California in a career-military family. I have a beautiful (and better) sister, five years my younger. My mother raised us with strength that doesn't make for a good movie. I've walked through betrayal, grief, heartbreak, and joy. And somehow, I still believe in good things- slowly, stubbornly, and with calloused hands.

I like cooking late at night and lifting things that make other people uncomfortable. I climb walls, both literal and emotional. I do yoga- not because I love it, but because my hamstrings demand it of me. I am a lifelong learner, which means I ask too many questions, think too much, and get into a lot of trouble.

This site is just a place for my thoughts to land. Theology, heartbreak, culture, conscience, cooking (occasionally)- filtered through the lens of a man trying to live deliberately in a distracted world.

If you're here, I hope you find something that resonates. Or at least something that makes you think.

"The mystery of human existence lies not in just staying alive, but in finding something to live for."
Fyodor Dostoevsky
